"Chief Science Officer's log, supplemental. Lieutenant Commander Sonak recording. The Science team preparing the class-two probes for deployment as a Sensor net have now completed their task, four minutes ahead of schedule. We are now preparing to launch the probes.

Sonak stood behind the starboard consoles on the bridge, collectively known as the Science stations. Three of his team were now working at the stations, whilst he supervised.

"'Commander," one of them began - seated at Science Station I - as they spun around to face the Chief Science Officer, "launch control report that all the probes are now loaded and primed to launch."

Sonak nodded. "Target probe one for coordinate waypoint alpha," he began, watching as the the Ensign turned back to the screen, and carried out Sonak's order. "Launch." Sonak watched on the screen as the icon representing the first probe moved into position. "Target probe two for coordinate waypoint beta," Sonak continued, "and launch..."

The science team continued, deploying all eight probes into position, one at a time. Now that the eight probes were in position, they could proceed to enable the sensor net. "Send out the activation sequence," the Vulcan now ordered, "and initiate the communications link."

The Bolian Ensign seated at Science Station III now carried out their orders. "Activation sequence sent, communications link established."

"The link is working, 'Commander," reported the officer at Science station II, "we have a stable connection. We're now receiving telemetry from the Probes."

"Excellent," Sonak replied. "Maintain station keeping on the probes, match probe alignment to the Ermiana." Sonak turned from the team, leaving them to work, and walked up to the aft section of the bridge, now taking a seat at Science Station IV. He accessed the telemetry being returned by the probes, and now set to work to plot potential traces of the Bismarck, and the Maquis...
