Mission: The Search
Location: Sickbay

James walked into sickbay after the Dr straight after the staff meeting. He was still holding his shoulder, as it was feeling stiffer than when he regained consciousness. He sits himself down on a biobed. He looks towards the doctor.

“Thanks for taking a look, doc. I know you’re busy with other more serious patients, “it’s just it doesn’t appear to be dissipating. I thought it was just a bad phaser burn, but it could be worse."

Felicie grabbed the tricorder and ran it over the spot. "It's a good second-degree burn," the Trill commented. "I'm glad you didn't wait though. If this was to get infected, it's really easy for them to go south. I'll get it situated quickly, just give me a moment to get some salve and the regenerator."

“Could you also let me know how Lt. Temaha is doing? She was hit by flying debris “

"Yes, I'll get a status update for you when I get back." The doctor squeezed his hand reassuringly and went to grab what she needed. She wanted to debride the wound, and then use the dermal regenerator to get it all patched up. The area of the burn would probably need some additional work if it didn't take for whatever reason.

After grabbing what she needed, she grabbed the status of the officer that he had asked about and walked back to the bio-bed that he was situated on. "She's been in and out and has been discharged making a full recovery. She's on light duty throughout the rest of the day and should be able to return to normal duty tomorrow. As for you, I need to clean up your wound. I'll apply a nerve block for you so it's not painful."

"Thanks, Doc, I appreciate it," James replied. He quickly removed his jacket and undershirt, revealing the wound on his right shoulder. He tossed the clothes aside and waited for Felicie to resume the treatment. James felt nothing, but he imagined the wound beginning to close and heal under the device.

'The wound itself wasn't too terrible', she thought to herself, noting the amount of damage there was and what needed to be done about it. It was quick work with first a numbing agent injection near the area, and then a quick run over with the regenerator to remove the bad tissues. To make sure that there would be no infection, she gave an antibiotic for the area. She finally wrapped up the process with a dermal regenerator over the cleaned up burn. All in all, it only took a couple of minutes to get everything taken care of. "How's that?" she asked.

"Much better, thank you. You're amazing, Doc." James said, smiling at her. He took his jacket and undershirt back as Felicie passed them to him.

"Good. Keep an eye on any tingling sensation. It may be a sign that something isn't quite right and I'll need to take a look at it again to ensure it's not an infection brewing on the inside," the doctor commented.

James nodded and got dressed. He thanked Felicie again for looking after his staff member and headed back to the bridge to work on the relays from his console to the navigation systems.

As he walked down the corridor, he bumped into SCPO Billy Graham, "Lieutenant Henderson, sir. How are you feeling?" Billy asked.

"I'm fine, thanks to the Doc," James said.

"Glad to hear that, sir," Billy said.

"Indeed. Listen, Billy, I need you to work on the relays between the navigational sensors and the thrusters. They were damaged in our encounter with the Bismark, and we can't afford any delays in getting going again." James said.

"Understood, sir. I'll get right on it." Billy said.

"Good. Report to me when you're done." James said.

"Yes, sir," Graham said.

James nodded and continued his way to the bridge. He hoped that the relays would be fixed soon and that the rest of the repairs would go smoothly.
