Mission: The Search
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Before the Staff Briefing

Felicie and Matevos came aboard the Ermiana at the same time. Since they had their own shared quarters and were married, their check-in with the Captain was scheduled for the same time. They had already dropped their bags in their quarters and had made their way to the Captain’s ready room. Felicie pressed the chime and their chitchat quieted down as they were now officially arrived for duty.

Mikoto was scratching her head in confusion as she read through the contents on the PADD she was holding. With the Ermiana being dispatched to Deep Space Nine and the Badlands, she had been given plenty of astronomical and tactical data on the region. The tactical data she could understand pretty easily, however the other data was a little harder to understand.

On hearing the chime she let out a sigh. "I'll have Touma look over and explain it to me at dinner..." she looked up at the door. "Come in" she called.

The Giehls walked through the ready room door and each presented a PADD to the Captain with their transfer orders. They had only gotten the orders the day prior. Felicie didn't realize that the Misaka they were going to be under was the one in the same that had signed their transfer orders off of the Venture before the entire Deep Space 9 adventure. "Sir," Felicie said after handing over her orders. "Lieutenants Felicie and Matevos Giehl reporting for duty. Nice to see you again."

Mikoto raised an eyebrow, she knew this Lieutenant from the Venture where she had served as Executive Officer before taking command of the Ermiana. "Well, hello. Fancy seeing you here?" she smiled as she reached out with her hand for them to shake.

Felicie smiled. "Coincidences do happen and as much as the fleet is huge, some how. Some way, it's a small universe." She shook the Captain's hand and then her husband repeated as he pulled out the chair for Felicie.

"Like wise, Captain," Matevos said shaking her hand and taking a seat himself.

"Looks like I'm your Assistant Chief Medical Officer this time around," Felicie commented. "Congratulations are in order for your own command."

Misaka smiled as she indicated for them both to sit down. "Why thankyou Lieutenant. Although I was pushed into the position by Captain Buxton. I've only been here a few months though" she explained. "What brings you here from the Venture?" she asked curiously.

"We jumped from the Venture to the Phoenix. I applied for an Assistant Chief Medical Officer and this was the first position that had that and a nurse slot available. We were more than surprised when it turned out to be head nurse," Felicie stated.

Matevos chuckled. "She's got her end goals as Chief Medical Officer. I go where ever she goes." He was surprised at Head Nurse. "Head Nurse was my goal. Anywhere past that is administrative only work and that's not me."

"Well, we did ship out with more or less a skeleton crew" Mikoto sighed. "I'm just glad that Starfleet finally managed to fully crew us. Such positions are sought after by officers across the fleet, especially on Galaxy Class Starships" she explained.

"Well good thing we started looking when we did then," Felicie added. "We're not particular about the vessel as long as we get to stay together as much as we can."

Mikoto smirked. "Yeah, the same applies for me. I took Command of the Ermiana under the condition that I could bring Touma with me." she paused. "You remember Touma right, he and I were on the Venture together. The Science Officer" she asked.

Thinking for a moment, Felicie recognized the name but couldn't place a face. "Not particularly. So many different assignments, so many people," she chuckled.

Matevos spoke up. "Touma? He and I used to drink together from time to time. Then we got reassigned."

"Oh Touma. He was part of your group?" Felicie asked. Matevos nodded. "Now I can place him"

"He's still in Science. However..." Mikoto paused for a moment as she turned her attention to Felicie. "I have a proposal for you Lieutenant"

That piqued Felicie's attention. "Oh?"

"Our CMO was transferred out just before your arrival. It was last minute" she sighed. "You've got enough experience, and you know how the sickbay works on a Galaxy Class. So, want to step up and take the Chiefs job?"

That really took Felicie aback thinking that she finally got to the assistant position and now here she was handed the Chief Medical Officer. She barely took a moment to register and reply, "sure, and if we find that I'm not up to snuff, I'll let you know so you can hunt for a replacement."

Mikoto nodded. "Well then, I shall enter you in as our new Chief Medical Officer" she replied as she tapped a few times on her computer console. "Congratulations" she smiled.

Felicie stood and extended her hand to shake the Captain's. "Thank you, Sir. I'll go do a deep dive and make sure that we have everything that we need. If there is anything else, just let me know."

"No problem. Dismissed" Mikoto smiled.
