Location: Transporter Room #2

Transporter room #2 came alive as the blue energizer beam bathed the pad in blue light. A young man emerged from the fog, sporting a yellow operations uniform. He wore the older, more formal Type B uniform. He sported blonde hair and bright blue eyes.

The only other figure in the room was the Andorian lieutenant, he glared coldly as the young man fresh out of the academy. "You're late ensign," he said matter of factly as he finished the transporter sequence.

"I'm sorry chief," the young man responded, "I only received my orders this morning." He stepped down from the pad carrying a small dufflebag and a PADD which he handed to the chief. "Ensign Zachary Wright," he said, with a smile and extending his hand.

The Andorian glanced up from the PaDD and gave him a curt nod in response, "Welcome aboard the Ermiana, Mister Wright," he said in a matter of fact tone. "I'm Lieutenant Zon th'Tetz, the chief operations officer. Now there is no time for pleasantries, the ship is almost ready to launch and you are needed."

"Understood sir," Zack responded, his eyes wide in shock. The man was all business, but Noah admired that in an officer.

"You are needed on the bridge," Zon said, heading towards the door.

"What about my duffle?" Zack asked.

"Take it with you, there's no time to deal with it," the Chief said as he walked briskly into the corridor and towards the turbolift. He had been in the service for decades and this was just another young ensign without a clue.

"Lord have mercy," Zack muttered under his breath.

"I'm sorry sir, I didn't catch that?" Zon asked as the turbolift doors opened.

"Nothing sir," Zack said, shuffling inside of the lift as the doors closed. Sure he had heard life aboard a starship was fast pace, but he wasn't expecting this.

"Look alive ensign," Zon said, "May I give you some advice?"

"Sure sir," Zack responded, what did he have to lose?

"You're here because someone somewhere," he stared at the turbolift doors, "Thinks you're worth something. Don't let the captain intimidate you."

"I won't," Zack responded, letting a slight smirk emanating from his lips.
